The Government continues the dialogue with the indigenous people of Cauca

On May 7, the Minister of the Interior, Nancy Patricia Gutiérrez, held a fruitful meeting to follow the agreements of the Southwestern Minga with its councilors and leaders at the head of the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca (CRIC), the Indigenous Regional Council del Huila (CRIHU), the Indigenous Regional Council of Caldas (CRIDEC), and the Countryman Table of Cauca.

At the meeting of this last Tuesday, it was also agreed to hold a meeting in Popayán on June 7, headed by the Minister of the Interior, the director of the National Planning Department and the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca, CRIC, in order to define the Investment Action Plan, and a date for the next Mixed Commission session.

The Minister of the Interior, Nancy Patricia Gutiérrez, also promised to inform on May 17, via telephone, to the CRIC's Senior Advisor, Neis Lame, the advances in the construction of the differential protocol for access to land and the differential methodology for productive projects, the steps to be followed and the timing of issuance of such instruments, once an inter-institutional meeting with those responsible for the protocols: the Ministry of Agriculture and the Rural Development Agency, ADR.

Additionally, in accordance with the requests and clarifications of the agenda at the meeting presented by the representatives of the Countrymen Table of Cauca, the Minister of the Interior, Nancy Patricia Gutiérrez, promised to define the exact date, at the end of the month, in which the session of the National Table of Guarantees of DD.HH., social and community leaders will be advanced.
