  • After hearing the response of the President of the Senate, Efraín Cepeda, on the Transitional Special Circumscriptions of Peace, the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Rivera, reiterated that the national Government will fight for its approval in the courts.

“The national government abides and respects the decision of the President of the Senate," said Interior Minister Guillermo Rivera, who reiterated that "we are not going to resign ourselves to this decision. The Government will continue to fight for the rights of the victims, in this case the right to political representation”

The Minister affirmed that he will give "the battle in the judicial courts because we have very solid arguments. We go with all the conviction so that this controversy of interpretation of the regulation is resolved ". He added that, in any Rule of Law, there are administrative and legislative decisions and he anticipated that "tomorrow we will request a court to resolve because the legal reason is on our side”.

Thus, it will file an enforcement action before the Court of Cundinamarca and a nullity action before the Council of State, once the minutes of the session of November 30 are known.

The head of the political portfolio concluded that the Government expects a Judge of the Republic "assess our arguments and make a modulation to register these applications.
